What's been going on?

check out my other blog (link to the right) to find out, baby!!

Today was my last day of work for awhile......no one there knew that, but oddly enough all the children hugged me when I left, which is unusual. They really do have a 6th sense about these things.

We've had two showings of the house this week, we'll have to take a break from that for awhile---so many things are up in the air, and for a change, I really don't care! I just want to assemble the snazzy stroller sitting in my garage (it even has a clock and a temp. reading)

4 more days and counting...

A random assortment of information and musings

What an insane whirlwind life is right now. I think for the moment, things are calm, and nothing pressing is at hand, so I shall post. Really, I've been posting in my head since MT, but until my computer sprouts "thought recognition", it doesn't do much good but amuse me.

I. MONTANA

Montana rocked!!! I am so glad we went. I came home bummed that we had to go to work the next day, and wanting to spend more time w/ L rather than less, so I took it as a good sign.

The wedding itself was anti-climatic, but it was only a few hours of our time. Robbie done murried himself a cow-girl--she wore boots everyday but the wedding day (then she wore flip-flops under her gown), horseshoes and lasso ropes were the center pieces and the mother of the bride wore her best jean skirt to the nuptials. So there ya have it. But the kids were happy, joyiously happy, and isn't that what it's all about!??

Montana is absolutely beautiful, like looking through a crisp camera lens at all times. We drove down to Helena, which is a cool, small-town, artsy-fartsy in it's own way, and the state capital. Definitely want to return to see more of it. We climbed Mt. Helena and it was breathtaking!! (literally and figuratively)

II. The house sale

The house is offically for sale. We cleaned like mad before we left for MT, and had two showings while we were gone. Have to remember that they are called showings....viewings are for dead people. Anyway, last week we had our first offer---way low, and she didn't bite when we countered. Oh well, her loss. Until it sells, we'll be enjoying the new vinyl we had installed and the clean carpets. I'm liking the non-cluttered life. Of course, I can't find a damn thing, and I probably mislaid some bills or something, but the house is darn pretty.

III. LIfe in general

Now that the house is listed, we are in a lull. We eat off of paper plates, and don't make messes. I have lots of time to read, because we put the TV in the spare room, which is rather warm. I like it. We had a few friends over on the weekend, and it was so easy to get ready and to clean up, because nothing else was out.....

Hopefully, that will leave more time for blogging. I"m also doing an online fitness thing w/ cornerstone.com that gives me a place to log my daily steps. My friend's company is doing it for eight weeks, and she can invite friends to join, so she invited me. Turns out that 10,000 a day is no problem for me whatsoever. Apparently, though, you can't take 10,000 bites a day as well, or you have to walk more than that....blah! Oh well. lately I"ve been pretty content just to not be the fattest one at the pool/at the gym/walking around the block , etc. And I'm never THE fattest one. Doesn't make my pants fit any better, but I'll find solace wherever I can find it!

IV. Books

I've been reading a ton. Two of my favorite finds for the summer:

The Big Stone Gap Series by Adrianna Trigiani (Big Stone Gap, Big Cherry Holler and Milk Glass Moon)--SO awesome. I love them! Read them in order, and you will love them too. The characters are very human, and the dialogue is hysterical. And you will grow to love Jack Mac. Yummy. Any man introduced in his underwear at his mother's kitchen table has to be a keeper, right?

The Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich--they are numbered, the first one is One for the Money, the second is Two for the Dough, so on and so forth. I'm a bit addicted, I"m on my fourth one and it's just been a week! Anyway, the story lines are decent , the situations hilarious, and they are wired with sexual tension and innuendos by very macho men. Very HOT men. Like I have them totally pictured in my mind and hope to meet them someday.

Hmm...don't know what my obsession with literary hotties is, but there are worse vices!!

This may be the world's longest post. Congratualitons for getting to the end of it. Hope it was worth it!
